Which island is best for hiking and volcanic scenery?
Réunion, with its volcanic peaks and deep cirques, has the most dramatic interior. Mauritius has the Black River Gorges and the colored earth at Chamarel, and Mahé has forest trails in its national park.
Where can I see lemurs?
Lemurs live only in Madagascar and the nearby Comoros, and Nosy Be is the cruise stop for them. Boat trips to the small island of Nosy Komba and walks in the Lokobe reserve are the usual ways to see them.
