Red Sea & Egypt — FAQ

Is the trip to Petra or Luxor worth the long drive?

For many passengers it is the reason for the cruise. Expect a full day with a lot of time on the road, and wear sturdy shoes, since both sites involve long walks over uneven ground.

Are there shorter options from the Red Sea ports?

Yes. Aqaba and Safaga both sit on coral-fringed coastline, so snorkeling, glass-bottom boats and beach time are easy alternatives. From Aqaba, the red desert of Wadi Rum is closer than Petra.
