Southern Africa — FAQ

Can I go on safari from a southern African cruise port?

Yes. Addo Elephant National Park is about an hour from Gqeberha, and from Durban there are game reserves within a drive of an hour or more. Longer reserves such as Hluhluwe-iMfolozi suit overnight stays better than a single port day.

What is the best use of a day in Cape Town?

Table Mountain by cable car if the weather is clear, then the Cape Peninsula for the Cape of Good Hope and the penguins at Boulders Beach. The Winelands around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are the other favorite.
